Sunshine and Swimming Pools

Well after a week of adventure I must let you know about what has been going on;
-Drinking of virgin Pina Colada's
-Sitting in the sun
-Lounging in the sun reading
- Mowing lawn in the sun
-Trying to use a Whipper Snapper - a GIANT Weed Wacker, in the sun
-Using amazing little kiddy pools in the sun--in freezing cold water
-Hanging out with my sister in the sun
-Nearly finishing two books in the sun
-sleeping in, in the sun
-Visiting my aunt and uncle.. in the sun.

It was a wonderful week full of absolutely 'nothing' but it was great.

Winnipeg isn't so bad afterall....

Some good things come from not going anywhere!
I will try and find my actual work photos after I return from my mini-holiday...so you can see my lighting, tiling and porch demolition I've been doing :)

Winnipeg Winnipeg .... Maryfield and stingrays?!

Alright my avid followers, so sorry for the delay! I have been waiting to figure out how to add pictures to my posts, but I'm not very good at it yet! I have posted one of my sister and I, as I'm now going to go visit her for a few days. Below I will quickly outline what I've been up to and what is happening, and I'll try and keep up to date from now on!

1. Found out 2.5 weeks ago our trip was delayed due to an increase in travel advisory.
2. Found out 2 weeks ago we would begin a university class in Winnipeg to keep up with our courses.
3. Waiting with much baited patience for some sort of word on what was happening in Thailand.
4. Approx .5 weeks ago found out although travel advisory did decrease for all of thailand, things were getting much worse in Bangkok.
5. Finished our University Science class on Friday May 14th.
6. Saturday May 15th I demolished a porch, built a some sides for an 16+2' trailor, took a giant load to the dump, fixed a flat tire, did my first few putts at Kildonan golf course--all done of course with a little help from shaun:)
7. This morning, Sunday I received this message this morning...
Hello Everyone,
As you know from the news, the situation in Bangkok has worsened. I know this is very discouraging. The school is not starting classes until May 24 like most of the other schools in Bangkok.
Your positions here are secure so do not worry about that. I will keep you updated frequently.
All my best,
8. So, the low down is that we are still intending on going, but somewhat indefinite amount of wait time until then, so I'm going to go on a mini-holiday while I wait. This will be the first time I have a real holiday is quite some time, so it will be nice to go out for a couple days. I will go to Maryfield SK, just a little past Brandon for a few days with my prego sister and then back to Winnipeg, hopefully for some cabin time before I head off to Thailand :)... hopefully.
9. I''ll try to keep everyone updated!
10. It's a good thing I haven't left for Thailand yet.... I just watched a documentary of the largest fresh water fish in the world...... the GIANT stingray, the biggest one found ever about 450 kilos, 1200lbs.... where, in THAILAND! ahh... eeek! Good thing I knew that before I went swimming! (They also showed the biggest fresh water shrimp I've ever seen... yum yum!)

Alright, I will practice my photo updating skills and get back to you soon!

Perhaps I'll have to stop back into Kindergarten sometime soon! :)

Not so Adventurous Adventures?

Waiting hasn't been as fun as I'd hope. But today I paid to learn! We have started our university part of 'Thailand' here in Winnipeg. Our prof that was supposed to come out and meet us has met us instead in a basement classroom on Portage Ave. Today I made a parachute, rotocopters and many other amazing and secretive things I can't remember now. Life isn't boring in Winnipeg, but it isn't terribly exciting either. I have now began to think I should unpack a few more items and try to get a clean pair of undies out of the mix. We have no word yet of when or if we will go to Thailand, although with some negotiations made today between the Thai gov't and the Red Shirts. Hopefully we'll know what's going on soon as the 8 degrees and rain isn't quite like 38 degrees and rain. Oh well, better luck next time? I'm not used to going to school in May, or having a bit of free time, any GOOD suggestions about what I shall use to occupy my dear time?
